The venue

Arena GNP Seguros: Acapulco's entertainment hub

One of the main reasons to stay in the Diamante zone: the Arena GNP Seguros is just minutes from the apartment.

The Arena GNP Seguros (part of the Mundo Imperial complex, on Boulevard de las Naciones) is Acapulco's premier venue for concerts, festivals and sports. From international tours to the country's biggest Latin-music stars, the calendar runs all year long — which means there is almost always a reason to plan your trip around a show.

Staying at Esmeralda puts you within a short drive of the doors, so you can enjoy the night and come home to rest without long transfers or surge-priced rides across the bay.

Tennis

The Mexican Open: ATP 500 tennis in Acapulco

Every February, Acapulco becomes the center of the tennis world for the Abierto Mexicano de Tenis (Mexican Open) — an ATP 500 tournament held right at the Arena GNP Seguros.

First held in 1993, the Mexican Open is one of the most prestigious stops on the ATP Tour outside the Grand Slams, drawing top-ranked players to the hard courts on Boulevard de las Naciones. It's a bucket-list week for sports fans: world-class tennis by day and a festive Acapulco atmosphere by night.

Acapulco & the Diamante zone: the essentials

More than a beach — Acapulco mixes legendary bay views, golden-sand beaches and a lively scene. Here's what's around you.

Beaches near the apartment

Revolcadero Beach is the long, open Pacific beach of the Diamante zone — wide golden sand and big surf, perfect for long walks and sunsets. The calmer, hotel-lined stretches by the Princess Hotel are great for a relaxed beach day.

Getting here

From Mexico City, the Autopista del Sol (Hwy 95D) makes Acapulco an easy road trip of roughly 3.5–4 hours. Flying in? Acapulco International Airport (ACA) is close to the Diamante zone — minutes from the apartment.

Best time to visit

Acapulco is warm year-round. Peak weeks are the Mexican Open (late February), Easter / Semana Santa, summer holidays and the Christmas–New Year season. For better rates and quieter beaches, aim for the shoulder weeks in between.
